Leona Kaya Deckelbaum

.... was born in Israel and has spent her life between the Middle East, and North and South American continents. For the last decade, she worked at the crossroads of development, community organizing and urban transformation in Rio de Janeiro.  She is currently living between northeastern Brazil following that oh-so-dreamy-passion for living on a beach in the middle of nowhere, and Ivry sur le Lac, Quebec. All while capturing her's and others' own adventures with the photographic lens.

Leona has a bachelors in American History from McGill University and holds a Masters in International Affairs from The New School where she focused on Urban Development in Colombia and Brazil, specifically. She is currently earning a phD in parenting alongside her partner Bruno. Outside of her work and professional interests, she can be found kiteboarding, baking, hiking, playing with play dough and/or stopping on every street corner to say hi to the neighborhood dogs.
